# How Much Does a Kitchen Renovation Cost in 2025?

A realistic UK breakdown of kitchen renovation costs — from budget refreshes to premium bespoke fits — plus where the money actually goes.

## What a new kitchen really costs

As a rough 2025 guide, a budget kitchen refresh typically starts around £5,000–£10,000, a mid-range refit lands around £10,000–£20,000, and premium bespoke kitchens can exceed £25,000 depending on units, worktops and appliances.

## Where the money goes

Cabinetry and worktops usually take the largest share, followed by appliances, then labour for plumbing, electrics and fitting. Structural changes such as removing a wall add cost but transform the space.

## How to keep control of budget

Always set aside a 10–15% contingency, agree a fixed quote in writing, and confirm exactly what’s included. A clear spec is the best defence against creeping costs.
